Advice for Skaters
For the comfort, safety and enjoyment of all patrons please observe the following rules and guidance:
Do’s…
· Please only use our hire skates on the rink.
· Please ensure that you have the correct size skates and that they are fitted tightly, especially around your ankles.
· Do wear socks with the skates. Our kiosk sells these so don’t worry if you have forgotten to bring these with you on the day of your visit.
· We strongly recommend wearing sun glasses when skating on our rink, particularly on bright days.
· Do keep to the black rubber matted area whilst wearing our skates. Walking on paving slabs can damage them. Any unnecessary damage caused will result in a charge being made.
· Do skate in an anti-clockwise direction unless directed otherwise by a member of staff.
· Children under the age of 8 years old should be supervised by an adult at all times. The adult does not need to be skating but must remain within the rink area. We advise all skaters, to carry an emergency contact number for the unlikely event of an emergency.
· Do comply with directions from members of staff; persons acting in a manner that may detract the enjoyment away from our other customers may be asked to leave.
Dont's…
· Do not carry others skaters, including children or infants, whilst on the rink
· Do not skate in chains of more than three people as this can be dangerous to other skaters.
· Do not sit on the rink barriers.
· Do not use mobile phones or headphones whilst skating on the rink.
· Do not use unauthorised cameras on the rink; video recording is also not permitted at any time. To obtain permission to use cameras on the rink please speak to a member of staff on duty.
· Do not eat, drink or smoke on the rink.
· Any person(s) deemed to be under the influence of drink and/or drugs will be refused admission.
· Wearing shorts, skirts or short sleeved shirts is not recommended when using the rink, but is permitted.
· The Borough Council accepts no responsibility for the damage, theft or loss of any personal possessions of skaters when using the rink.
· The Borough Council does not accept any responsibility for any personal injury occurring either on the premises or when using the rink.
Thank you for taking the time to read these guidelines.
Happy and safe skating.
